Teacher of the Year
2007-2008
Teacher of the Year was a new program started this year by the Grand Valley Education Foundation to recognize outstanding teachers in the school district. Each school chose one teacher as "Teacher of the Year."
For Bea Underwood Elementary School, Kathy Keeling, a 6th grade teacher, was chosen. For St John Middle School, Lorile Loesch, a Math teacher, was chosen. For Grand Valley High School, Scott Carpenter, a Math teacher, was chosen.
These "Teachers of the Year" were presented with a special trophy, plus they earned $500 for themselves and $500 to spend in their classroom.
